Psychics. Can they see things we don't or are they fake? Well here, you can read about two I consider real.
If you don't believe in them, well then, just get your horoscope at the bottom of the page and move along.
:P

Some so-called psychics basically walk you through the process, almost like a lawyer leading a witness.
"Your name is Chris. You were named after someone or something very important."
"Yes, Christmas is my birthday."
"And I see another C or S".
So basically either another Chris or THE most popular letter in the alphabet.
The other one is, "Water. I see a pond or lake, water of somekind.".
Well since 2/3 of the planet is water, that's a bet I'll take.
Ask yourself these quesions:
You were born when it was it was very hot or very cold. I see trouble recently. You're questionng yourself.
Someone with a "S" or "C" is close to you. They want to help, but don't know how.
See, it's pretty easy. But when someone looks right at you and mentiones a dead relative no only by name but how they died, well, that's something.

John Edward

John Edward does not speak to dead people, he interprets them.

In studying John Edward, I have noticed that he far from being the Gypsy Fortune Teller that some people have labled him as. In fact, one of my favorite quotes is from Edward when someone asked him to fight the critics. He responded by saying, "Why should I defend my postion. That would mean my postition needs defending."
He doesn't know the future, nor does he directly "speak" to the dead. When he gets a spirits energy, they communicate with him through feelings or "impressions" that he must interpret. Sometimes he gets them wrong, but watching him, it looks like he is playing a game of ectoplasmic charades.
In one example, he had the impression of a bat. A plastic bat he used to play with as a kid. This led him to tell the subject about his bat he had named. The woman then told him that that was her childs name. A lot of his impressions are from old television shows that he used to watch as a kid. Spirits reminding him of "Flo" from the show Alice because that was they way the spirit had acted.
Some of the things that strike me, is when people ask him, not about the future, but about "the other side".
One of the things that sticks out the most, is when he explained the Other Side as having levels. He said he saw different levels of Heaven. This would be paralelled with the Mormon faith as they have 3 different levels of Heaven. All are glorious, just some more than others. The first representing the highest, contiaing all knowledge of everything. This is for the most faithful and rightous. The second being just slightly lower for those who wavered in faith. Still belonging in Heaven and feeling the goodness that comes with it, they are just slightly denied of some of the pleasures as they ones above. The thrird level is for those who were not clear with their faith or lacked some. It is a level filled with "classes" to learn and get people to except the Lord as their savior.
In one instance, a 7 year old boy who had died, followed Edward around during his early life. The child said it wouldn't be coming around much more because it was taking "classes" on the Other Side. Two weeks later, the Murrow building was destroyed, killing children in a Daycare.
Was this child taking "classes" to help the children cross over?
It's also been said that spirits or their energies, grow as they would on Earth. Another interesting aspect to this is that Edward has gotten messages from the spirits warning of death to come, such as a car accident or other. This would mean that time on the Other Side is relative. All time the same, yet different. Days like minutes, centuries like seconds.
Some spirits are said to come over, laying down impressions hard and fast, as if trying to prove that there is an afterlife. These spirits were usually the ones with some or no religion, as if saying, "Yes, I'm here!."
As most know, things on the Other Side are much different. Petty fights and bickering are forgotten. Spirits saying, "Forget that" or "Just stop. It doesn't matter."
Some critics would say he uses people to make money. Some saying he is a fake, yet none explaing the way he can say a name and birthdate just by looking at someone he's never met, getting not only those right, but the name of a relative long gone. His books and tapes labor more on loving people in the now than buying more tapes and books.
While most people are staying up late calling Ms. Cleo and ignoring the Fraud charges brought against her, I will be watching the man who doesn't dress like a childs crayon drawing. A man who claims to talk to the dead. Who has his own syndicated show, i.e. NOT an infomercial. A man who doesn't claim he can tell you about your wealth or romance. Just a man who says, "Make sure you show love to the ones around you now.", and keeps me enthralled with the Other Side.

The following is from The Washington Post:

Hot Medium: Prime-Time Spirit Guide John Edward
By Ylan Q. Mui
Washington Post Staff Writer

John Edward, psychic medium, must be feeling absolutely divine. His Sci-Fi Channel talk show -- the one where his guests are spirits -- just went prime time. It's slated for national syndication at the end of August, coinciding with the release of his first novel. He has been busy on the talk show circuit -- Larry King, the "Today" show, "Dateline" -- and his seminar tonight at Baltimore's convention center is sold out.

A whirlwind of debate surrounds Edward, of course: Is he for real? Is he exploitative? Is he really a spiritual guide? And the fans have been left in the shadows. Experts, skeptics and psychics can debate the validity of Edward until they turn blue. The fans believe, and that's all that matters.

They are the crux of his show, "Crossing Over With John Edward," which airs Sundays through Thursdays at 8 p.m. As Pam Blizzard, a Bloomington, Ill., Web designer who runs JohnEdwardFriends.org, wrote on the site's message board: "Let's face it, without us, there would be no debate. Mediums would be talking to themselves, and cynics would have to direct their criticism to some other profession."

The year-old show crossed over into prime time June 4 on the strength of its late-night ratings. Edward comes across as unpretentious. A native of Long Island, N.Y., he talks like a cabdriver. He says he first recognized his ability to communicate with the dead at 15, and after college and a brief stint working in hospital management, he became a full-time psychic medium.

On the show, Edward moves freely in the middle of an auditorium, surrounded by the audience on bleachers, trying to channel signs from the dead that only he can see and feel. He fires off questions to the audience as he tries to pinpoint the person the deceased is trying to contact: Who has a sister or an aunt with a name like "M-A"? What is the connection to one and nine or nine and one? What is the deal with sharks and sports teams?

It's up to the audience to piece it together. Success hinges on their recognition, or "validation," of the symbols Edward describes. Skeptics say the questions are vague enough for all people to apply to their lives. But Edward isn't shy about cutting people off if he feels they're off the mark. Or he'll insist that his vision is right, though the audience member may not agree. (Just write down what he says, Edward advises. It'll make sense later.) After a few minutes, Edward's link to the dead weakens. He then finds a new channel and moves on to another audience member.

The thing I find so great about Mr. Edward is that it's not about the money for him. His whole idea was to get on TV or write books just to tell people that Death is not the end. John has shot down critics and skeptics many times and I don't doubt he has the power to see spirits and communicate with them.
When someone looks at you and says, "Your mom, Ellen is asking me about the toothbrush you had this morning. The green toothbrush that broke." and you're sitting there remembering that very incident, that's not fake.
He has raised more questions than answers for me though. At one time, he said a childnamed Mikey always came through as a kid. Later on, this child told him he was going to school to help kids cross over and that now that he was grown, he would like to be called Micheal."
Incidently, after Mikey told John this, the Oklahoma Federal building was destroyed, a bomb ripped through a daycare.
Was Mikey going to class at the Daycare or was there a class in Heaven that taught Mikey how to help the children? Did Mikey actually "grow up" in Heaven or was it mearly "mentally" he grew up?

Echo Bodine spends most of her times at haunted places, trying to understand spirits. Her book "Relax, it's only a ghost" tells about some of her cases and is very good, if not short reading. She has met some very mean spirits and what struck me most is that she tells them to go towards the light or tells the owners to tell them. She does not believe in Excorism. She says that there might be a reason why the ghost is there and nobody should interfere with that. Just talk to the spirit. Maybe it's just lost, but forcing it out may be the wrong thing to do.

Hello, this is Echo Bodine. I want to thank you for visiting me here at my website. I first discovered at age 17 that I was born with psychic abilities and with the gift of healing. My abilities include clairvoyance, the gift of seeing, clairaudience, the gift of hearing and clairsentience, the gift of sensing. I studied psychic development for several years and learned about the gift of healing from my spirit guides and also through prayer and meditation. In 1979, I quit my mainstream job and became a full time psychic consultant, healer, teacher of psychic development and healing classes and ghostbuster. Over the last twenty years, I have written four books, (see listing) and have appeared on several local and national radio and t.v. shows: Sally Jesse Raphael, Sightings, Encounters, NBCs The Other Side, Strange Universe, Mike and Maty show, The Un-explained (A&E), Wisdom Network, Paranormal Borderline, which did an 8 minute segment on my family, calling us  world's most psychic family.I've also appeared in several newspaper and magazine articles including the cover story for Corporate Report in April of “92. From April 1991 to August 1992 I hosted my own cable t.v. show called New Age Perspectives. Paramount pictures solicited my services for the promotion of the movie Ghost. In the fall of 1996, I co-hosted a cable show called The Edge. I am a contributing writer for Namaste Publication in London, and currently I am working on my fifth book, "The Still Small Voice, A Psychics Guide to Awakening Intuition", which is due out in the spring of 2001.
